A tribute to our band The Marlettes - O what could have been??? The Marlettes was created by John, Pete, Delly and Lee a few months ago. John played the electric triangle, Pete the maracas, delly the penny whistle and lee the electric bongo's. Our first gig was a complete failure. Having spent several study lessons writing our lyrics, we turned up to our gig drunk (nothing unusual there) however, John lost his amp for his triangle, james's penny whistle was out of tune and you don;t wanna know what happen to pete's maracas!!! we srewed up and didn't get the million pound contract we were expecting. The band were even lined up to play with gods of indie, Embrace, supporting them at Reading Festival. Things didnt work out though and the band decided to split with members deciding to follow their solo careers. The Marlettes couldnt cope with the fame that was associated with them. But in their honour we have decided to reform as a tribute band to the marlettes, who had orginally been a tribute band to Bob Marley(It all makes sense). The tribute band for the Marlettes is looking good and we hope to tour with Embrace but we have to wait and see.
